I know this is a long shot on here, but it's worth trying
looking for a pier cart, that can hold a cooler, tackle box, and several poles.... and would like to spend $40 or less
doesn't need to be fancy (would actually prefer wood over metal so I can add things to it easier) 7/29/2009 5:24:33 PM |

get one of those garden wagons from lowe's and bolt on some pvc
i have a slightly longer version of this, but it's not for sale. they're actually not that expensive and they're light enough for one dude to throw in the back of a truck

I like that kind you have, and a guy has one for sale in myrtle beach for 50 bucks, but that is a bit far to go from wilmington to pick one up (although he is selling it for a grrreaaat price- the cheapest otherwise for one of those that I've seen is 120 bucks)
i found this in the oak grove area:

I just gotta hope that it doesn't sell by friday (when I'm heading down there)
also, NRR, what do you know about that other stuff? what is the pier drop net for? and the pole clamp? Would any of that be useful? how about the gaff? 7/29/2009 5:50:37 PM |

that guy fishes for king mackerel on the end of the pier. i used to do it a lot. the net is for smaller fish that you really don't wanna lose on the way up like small kings, spanish mackerel, trout, flounder, red drum. the gaff is for very large fish like kings and cobia. a lot of king fishermen use the rod clamps to get their expensive fighting rods up off the planks where folks won't trip on them during a fight.
if none of this really makes sense to you and you just usually bottom fish, then all that stuff is useless to you. except maybe the drop net. you never know when you might hang a nice trout, flounder, or drum while bottom fishing and you might want a drop net ready, but probably not one that big. i can tell you how to make a smaller one from a bicycle rim if you want. hell, i'll even make it for you for whatever the materials cost.
