cant connect to anyone or receive calls. I know its not my phone it worked 2 hours ago. now i cant make calls, not even to customer service...and their online help sucks, takes you to a wrong page. last resort was an email had to be sent.

I didn't have to do option 2, I just did *228 it said 'searching' for about 25 seconds, and thats all. It appears that I have better service now too. I'll have to try it at work tomorrow.

and don't ever leave your alltel plan! the comparable verizon plans are ridiculously expensive

although, working for the university gets me a 20% discount on my service, so take my already-cheaper alltel plan and knock 20% off...it's not too bad

I CALLED IT IN AROUND 10PM AND THEY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE A TICKET OPEN FOR IT, BUT ALL OF THE DROPPED CALLS ALL AFTERNOON WERE FROM THE SAME TOWER.

The guy was saying something about researching it so he could open a ticket and the call dropped, I did not feel like calling back so I just went to sleep.

^^ you can just add her (or she can add you) to your plan and still keep your alltel plan, if you want...you can do it at any time during your contract, too, since the lines are still technically separate

for example, while i was still under contract, i added my gf's phone to my plan...we pay $80/month for 1000 shared anytime minutes, 10 shared my circle numbers, and 1000 texts per phone...the one thing verizon does well is the 20% for "educators", so it's really just $64/month for us (plus taxes, of course...usually around $75 total)

i really need the service away from cities and highways, so, at the moment, a GSM carrier isn't an option...even then, i don't know that they offer any plans that are a better value than what i'm getting now

^^ if your line is outside of the 2-year contract (it doesn't matter if your aunt and uncle are in one), you can start your own plan without any fees (you only have to have a contract if you buy one of their phones at the reduced price...if you have your own phone, there's no contract)
