it's not bad...i wouldn't do it because i hate white (they get dirtier faster and look dated) and 8.9" is waaaaaaaaaaay too small for me

you're only going to get about 2 hours on the battery, so you may want to spend another $50 on a 10400mAh battery in order to get a more usable 5 hours or so

so i have this exact product, but in black, and only with the 16GB drive.

i have absolutely loved it so far. awesome for traveling (hauled mine through NZ with no worries).

^^ nah i don't think "is this a good price" threads warrant a tech talk thread

It's not bad ... but, for $100 more I'd get this:

http://www.mwave.com/mwave/SkuSearch_v3.asp?SCriteria=3005253

It's got the atom processor, a 6 cell battery, Windows, and a 160gb hard drive instead of the 20gb ssd ....

Friend has one of these he uses all the time. Good for a web PC, camera is added bonus.

Not a big fan of the tiny keyboard.

^ i think that's a good choice...with the ION platform samsungs coming out in a few weeks (and other manufacturers following closely after that), these old(er) models will keep dropping in price and you'll be able to get a 10" in black for about the same price before thanksgiving (that's my prediction, anyway)

^ sounds good...it looks like the 9" and 10" models have the same resolution, 1280 X 600...is that extra 1" really that helpful?

all i know is i want black and >=8GB SSD, the rest doesn't matter that much to me at this point. Atom would be nice though...we'll see what deal pops up next.

I picked up the 1005HA this weekend for $299 at Best Buy, actually a decent deal from them for once tax-free, in the dark blue. 10.1" screen, 160 GB standard drive, Atom N270, 1 GB RAM. Like it so far--nice bright screen, keyboard is kinda small but still usable, light and compact, seems well put together. And the dark blue finish is really nice looking actually. It has the smaller 3-cell (4 hour) battery, but crazy battery life isn't a huge deal for me.

I wouldn't want anything smaller than what I got though. I've tried out a couple 8" and 9" netbooks and the keyboard has crossed the line into too small for me to comfortably use, and the extra 1" of screen real estate does help a bit.

yeah, i can't imagine wanting less than 10", if for no other reason than the keyboard

i'm pretty sure my next laptop will be a 12.1" or 13.3" model...14.1" is great and i'll never have one bigger than that, but i could stand to go a bit smaller
