Hadn't heard about this game until i downloaded the demo. Looks pretty fun, but i could see it getting boring without super creative boss fights and tons more gadgets. Of course none of that would be in a demo, but is probably worth a rent. I might start getting gamefly again.

This has been a big business presentation.

well the old one is dead and the game is released tomorrow.

IGN has given it a 9.3 and claimed it as the greatest comic book video game ever made. Looks very promising...I plan on playing the demo tonight.

played the demo through last night...it was a lot of fun, but im a little hesitant on purchasing this. Seems like it would be a decent rental though.

The demo wasn't exactly hot shit. Yeah, it was cool beating a few dudes up as Batman, but it was like a damn funhouse ride. It gave me the impression that the game is going to be repetitive in the same manner as Assassin's Creed.

I enjoyed the 90 mins or so I put into last night

Its not addictive, like "OMG I can't put this shit down (but I think at 24 I may be past that stage in my life anyway)

but its fun and doesn't seem repetitive at all yet

I really like the Joker in this one...most people know either Nicholson's Joker or Ledger's, but the real joker in the comics was arguably more twisted than either one of those depictions (He made a bank manager jerk off to a picture of his own daughter during a robbery ffs)

I like this game a lot

It's closer to something like God of War than AC...you generally follow a linear path (with a little extra exploration for collectibles if you choose), eliminating groups of goons on the way between objectives. The pacing's pretty good, though; I haven't really felt bored at any point yet. It's kind of fun to strike from the shadows, picking off enemies one by one while the rest of them start to freak out.

Yeah, it's repetitive in some ways, but you're always moving forward in the story or finding a new patient interview tape with some great bits from the villains to keep you interested.

Plus, I don't want to spoil any of the plot, but the Scarecrow segments are a nice shift from the standard gameplay.

@ ~20% you visit a bat cave 'hidden on the island several years prior'. The batmobile and the batjet are present in cutscenes and contribute to the story and all that jazz, but because it's a relatively small island I doubt they'll be playable vehicles.

This is a very well put together game and having a lot of fun playing it. I'm glad they decided not to just make this some mindless hack-and-slash. W/ Kevin Conroy & Mark Hamill doing the main voices, it's a nice flashback to the animated series in the early 90s.

after my game file corrupted, i decided to just replay on hard, and have been pretty happy with the increase in difficulty - single blows from henchmen take a significant bit of health, and you no longer have the counter icons above their heads. i'm only a little bit into it so far, but i can't imagine how many times i'll have to play some of those big room levels with the 10 guys with guns.
