So Cliff baked this fuckin' cheesecake-on-top-of-a-brownie thing, and I had a bit of that like a moron at 11:30. Noon rolls around. I carpooled, so I'm on foot. I go outside to walk to Wendy's when a few drops of rain hit. I'm thinkin', "I'm not even hungry."So I go back in, I get my graph paper and colored pencils and shit, and I go into the back conference room to draw a cool map for a combat encounter in this Sunday's D&D game. Thanks for reading. Peace.

I've been posting here for the past, like, eight years. In that time, I have never earned a reputation as a poster of good threads. Am I a funny dude? Sure. Clever? You bet. Good-looking? You know it. But a maker of good threads? Never happen.

The party will have tracked a halfling to his gang's hideout, which is situated beneath a trap door in the gully (door not shown; gully on bottom half of map). There's a slope in the middle, which is difficult terrain. Up on the ridge, there is a boulder that grants cover and two trees which can be climbed. The tree branches are challenging terrain (DC 10 Acrobatics check to move without falling). The player characters can attack the branches (AC/Reflex/Fortitude 8, 10 hp) to destroy them, causing enemies balanced on them to fall 15 feet (3d10 damage). In the gully, there are purple fungi called shadeshrooms. These grow thanks to the subtle influence of the Feywild. When a character enters a square containing shadeshrooms, the 'shrooms explode in a burst of obscuring gas that grants concealment in that square until the end of the encounter.I've included the encounter card summarizing the combatants. This is a level 2 encounter suitable for 5 PCs. I intended for it to be a bit of a challenge for a 1st-level party.

I have not!Today, I had leftovers: roasted chicken, carrots, and potatoes. I'm about to start drawing up the interior of the halflings' hideout.
