So I'm lying in bed as usual sleeping at 3 AM like I typically do at that time. Some noise wakes me up suddenly, and then I notice that there is a light coming from under the door (in the living room). So I'm like what the fuck is that? Then suddenly I think hmm my computer must have done something weird and the screen came back on; that's gotta be it. About that time the air conditioner (which is loud as shit) cuts off, and instantly the light goes out. So now I'm thinking HOLY FUCK THERE IS SOMEONE IN THERE. So after about 30 minutes of very carefully creeping out of my bedroom ready to either assault someone or get shot in the face with a handgun, I realize that there is no one here. Windows auto update restarted the computer which turned the monitor on, and then it went to sleep at the same time the A/C cut off by complete coincidence. </blog>

I think we've all had a similar issue. I had my speakers way up from listening to music, then went out. Came home, went to sleep and then was awoken to the blaring sound of my computer shutting down.

srsly though, that sort of shit is why i have auto update turned off. I just check it manually once a month or whenever I'm avoiding homework.

I set mine to download updates, but install manually. It's worked out for me.
