So what happened this summer in your life?

Me: Moved to Raleigh for a Job. Did not get an apt. with best friend. Lost best friend. Lost other best friend. Moved back home to Chapel Hill. Got work in San Diego. Quit Job in Raleigh. Packing and now moving to San Diego.

I graduated from UC-Davis with my MBA, quit my full time job, moved from the Ess Eff Bay Area to Raleigh and am looking for a full-time job.

Enjoyed freedom. Went on vacations in San Diego, Vegas, Miami and NC. Dated. Worked. Tanned. Surfed and wakeboarded. Chillaxed overall.

Finished my job that I worked at for 3 years (at a vet clinic in Carrboro - and I'm still living in Chapel Hill). Organized a really big pet food drive to happen on my last day of work which was kind of cool. Got interviewed at different points throughout the summer for various reasons for TV, radio, and a newspaper mostly for politics related stuff. Saw lots of movies mostly at Southpoint. Saw some fireworks on the 4th of July. Been working with a few municipal level local campaigns (mayoral & town council)... most of my experience has been with statewide/national campaign so this was kind of a fun new thing to do. I didn't get to travel nearly as much as I would have liked, but getting married back in March kind of used up my funds for that. Mostly I worked at the vet clinic though. I am very excited to have been accepted back to NCSU for grad school (finished my undergrad here 2006) & I'm starting in the Public Administration department tomorrow.

I did survive a VD scare, which was nice

and I'm currently 10-0 in my TWW NCAA Dynasty

had 2 great weddings to attend for some very close friends, had 2 great bachelor party weekends. Had a few nice getaway weekends at the beach. Spent a lot of time on the lake and on the wakeboard.

Didn't really have a big vacation or any kind of life changing moment, but summer 09 completely blew away summer 08.

the sex was down this summer, but i'm not too worried about it

I was just in the right place at the right time. That's pretty much the case for landing any great job.

finished my dissertation and defended (last week) and am now a temp employee at ncsu doing my research instead of an official RA (research asst not resident advisor) since i'm not a student anymore. set up two interviews for real jobs. one is this friday. the next is a week later.

Visit the fam and new nephew in Arlington/NoVa

Went to carolina beach and bald head island. Picked alot of raspberries and drove to research stations alot. Got a fever of 104 for the first time in memory. got SCUBA certified. did a little bit of indoor rock climbing. decided guys are not worth much more than their penis and how they use it as far as relationships go. extracted DNA from 130 raspberry plants. helped with blackberry extension agent training, which meant spending 2 night in lincolnton NC. Ate dinner w/ my parents alot.

That's about it.

Signed up for Sum 1 classes. Dropped Sum 1 classes. Sat around and did nothing for a month, but did go tot he gym a lot and lost 35 pounds. Then took two Sum 2 classes, got A's in both, spent a weekend in DC, and right back to classes.

This was the first sexless summer I've had in 6 years
