that wouldn't matter as much as it would what type of job she holds. if she works shift work and her shift would be on those days then the day of the week is irrelevant in some respects.i suspect this is more of a conceptual question[Edited on August 20, 2009 at 11:50 AM. Reason : also whomever said what days you work is picking up what i'm putting down.]

well, my friend's 2nd grader got it wrong bc it is supposed to be 5 days. WTF? I need to go back to 2nd grade.]

if you work Mon-Fri and we're talking Sept 5-10, then you have 4 days off of work.
8/20/2009 11:49:54 AM
if its conceptual and not specific to a date or work schedule then its 6. the days are inclusive.5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10
8/20/2009 11:51:06 AM
^trueif it's a blanket question, then you have 6 days.

SOMEONE BOO THIS TEACHER!BOOOOOOOO
8/20/2009 11:54:22 AM
if the second grader said 6 and you weren't considering the weekend as time already off (depending on which days this spans) she was right
8/20/2009 11:56:20 AM
2nd grader says 6.teacher says 5.correct answer (as we all know) is 6.

this is my problem with teacher pay. we pay them too little to attract actual intelligent people who are actual experts in their field. i much rather have someone with an engineering degree be my childs high school math or science teacher than someone with a science - ed degree who got into that because they couldn't handle chemistry.the situation is equally as dire for elementary school children because that is where we can shape their brain and teach them how to think both conceptually and concretely.

Most engineers are not qualified to teach science. I had a SUNY-B CSC/applied physics graduate for a high school calculus teacher, he was not qualified to teach physics. I had a meteorologist to teach physics. Nice guy, but he'd never have been able to teach AP physics.
