ie myers briggs. if you haven't taken the official long version, you can take the short version and get most of the info you would in the long version of the test.

kind of interesting to know and compare to your own experiences.

it's an interesting test, but yeah i don't really know what "good" it does, though.

years ago, i was INTP. ive heard people often change as they get older. i might try it again.

i've taken the official test probably 3-4 times (once for school and then the others for work) and have found i haven't wavered at all in 15 years.

i don't know if it does any good, but sometimes it is helpful to understand what other people are and how they think... thus you can adjust how you interact with them (esp helpful at work)

^^ Judging (J) ----- Perceptive (P).

that youre 78% on the "J" side, indicates pretty solidly "J"

This is B.S. because I would have liked to put "sometimes" for some of the questions. I don't mind being in large groups at parties, but some nights I feel like staying home and not having anyone bother me.

P vs J --- if you're a "J", i think it's like you tend to take what you know or can quickly find out about a situation and make a decision, rather than spending a lot of time analysing every possible detail and angle.

eh, i'm still INTP. the "Architect"....

i thought i read somewhere that people tended to drift in certain areas as they get older, but maybe that's not true.

no it isn't bs. it is asking for your first preference or your tendencies. for example, no one will be 100% extroverted all the time. it is all relative.

ENTJ/ESTJ, and this was from a test we took here at work.

I'm a slightly expressed extrovert (like 30% or something), I'm either like 5% intuitive or 0% sensing (I'm just about split on those two now), and thinking and judging I'm like 95% on. My personality used to be INTJ a couple years back, but events have caused me to change a bit. I'm a talky little bastard now.

And yeah BubbleBobble, I SURE AS FUCK LOVE TO TALK ABOUT MYSELF!

Which is basically all this test ended up doing for us at work. It was already pretty obvious who the introverts were.

im surprised at all the rationals on here... according to keirsey, they are only 5-10% of the population. tho it sort of makes sense with all the engineers/science people on here.

if i've ever been called anything, its introverted and rational, probably definitely to a fault.

from the wiki:
Quote :
"So TJ types tend to appear to the world as logical, and FJ types as empathetic."

yeah, the TJ-logical description certainly fits me.

I just scored ISTJ

but borderline on everything, nothing over 22%

Quote :
"Inspectors can be hard-nosed about the need for following the rules in the workplace, and do not hesitate to report irregularities to the proper authorities. Because of this they are often misjudged as being hard-hearted, or as having ice in their veins, for people fail to see their good intentions and their vulnerability to criticism. Also, because Inspectors usually make their inspections without much flourish or fanfare, the dedication they bring to their work can go unnoticed and unappreciated."

then that's not borderline. that's pretty solid.

the scales run from 0% on one end to 100% on the other. 50% is borderline.

if i went by my true nature and not just what age and experience have taught me i would probably be distinctive in all 4 categories...

in 4 separate classes at ncsu i was made an example out of as being the textbook example of my personality type...

it went anywhere from being called up to the front of the classes to be dissected, to having the professor use me as an experiment that i knew nothing about in order to use as an example for the class

I took one again a few months ago, and now I'm an ESTJ which I think definitely fits me now.
