is there a free dvd decoder that I can downlaod. Just installed vista OEM, and it won't play dvd's without one

it is ludicrous that ti doesn't come with one, I'll agree to that. But what's even worse is that it came with windows media player and center, and they show the option to play dvd, but it won't
