So, I found a piece of countertop from Lowe's that I will likely purchase. Can anyone recommend an affordable countertop installation service? What should I expect to spend? 9/1/2009 8:29:20 AM |

What material are the countertops? Whose is the manufacturer? What edging are you getting? How many square and linear feet? Can ballpark cost from there.
Usually the seller will hook you up with whomever is authorized to install that manufacturer's countertops. Bought two different brands of countertops, one set for kitchen, second set for master bathroom. One set was installed by one installer, the other by a second installer, both located out of Raleigh. 9/1/2009 10:04:13 AM |

If you buy it sized to fit your cabinets, do it yourself. It's insanely easy unless you are getting Solid Surface counter (aka heavy as balls). Seriously it takes an hour or two and a couple of people to put it in, level it and caulk the seams. 9/1/2009 10:37:26 AM |

I am getting laminate countertop. Its only about 100 bucks. When I moved into my house the countertop was ugly as shit, so even though this is cheap, it looks way better.
I have about 10 linear feet. I have two sections of 2.5 feet on either side of the stove, and I have a 5 foot section with a double sink cut into it.
Anyone wanna make a few bucks cutting/installing this weekend? 9/1/2009 1:54:38 PM |

^ They do, and its either done directly by them or contracted out, depending on circumstances. It isn't cheap.

Or quartz or granite, which I assumed was the case here. If you are going for low-cost, agree to read up a bit and do it yourself. Otherwise, most installers aren't going to be too happy with a job that small and you'll end up paying too much.
