I bought a MacBook 13.3 in. Aluminum unibody back in June. I was trying to switch from a PC to a Mac and am having a hard time of it. My loss is your gain. I paid $1249 plus tax. I am asking $1100. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with this computer. I just want/need to go back to a PC. Please contact me with any questions (Ginny at virginia.schwartzer@gmail.com or 615-973-6823) I also have Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac that can be negotiated in. Payment will be accepted by paypal. I just need to get rid of this so I can have my sanity back actually knowing how to do things on a computer.

Why don’t you just install Windows on it if you’re having such a hard time? http://www.apple.com/macosx/compatibility/#windowsvideo

I, too, would rather lose $149 than learn how to use an Apple computer. 9/6/2009 4:46:58 PM |

It is not a macbook pro. It is the model just before they switched to the 13.3 macbook pro. Timing sucks for me selling it.
I know I can use windows on it, but truthfully there is no reason for me to have a 1200 dollar machine when I could be using a 600 dollar one that already came with windows. I just want to be rid of this machine.
I work with two business partners who are on PCs and we have run into problem and problem of me on a mac and them on a PC. It is just going to be better to sell and get a PC again. 9/6/2009 5:00:39 PM |

What am i missing? A new macbook 13" with the specs you list and a faster processor sells for $999 new. Are you sure it's not a pro? The macbook comes with a plastic shell, while you say yours comes with an aluminum shell, which would make it a pro, and somewhat justify the price. i guess it must be an older model or something huh.

Why paypal payment? Are you not local?] 9/6/2009 5:34:50 PM |

Maybe a month ago Apple came out with the 13 in Pro. Mine is the 13 in Macbook. See here for the specs for my exact model http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB466LL/A It does have a aluminum body as a macbook. It was a midlevel macbook, not the white plastic ones.
I am local (if Durham counts). Really just offered paypal since it was a large sum of cash. 9/6/2009 5:50:50 PM |

so following your link I could buy a new one for 1100, why would I pay you 1100 for a used one? 9/6/2009 6:00:24 PM |

You will not get over $800 for this. I'm not trying to be rude..but the brand new ones can be had for LESS than you're asking. You can get them on eBay to avoid taxes and no one is going to pay you the extra $115 for Office. Sorry, but that's the truth.
Just being realistic. It's a touch call of just staying with it and running Windows or losing your money by selling it and buying something else to accomplish the same thing. Either way you are not coming out good on this because of the timing of the new release right after you bought it.
Personally I'd just put Windows on it and keep it. Stick it on craigslist and hope someone eventually buys it..but otherwise I'd just hold on to it. 9/6/2009 7:53:30 PM |

Thanks for the opinions. I'm open to negotiation... Not $700, but I don't want this computer anymore. What's the best I can get? 9/6/2009 8:14:23 PM |

sell it on craigslist.
the $1100 is confusing, since you said the office 2008 could be negotiated in, which means it would be extra...now you're saying it's included.
i'd try for $1000 on CL with the office.9/6/2009 9:46:17 PM |

We are a startup company and do a ton of collaboration for projects. The major problem we were having is with Outlook/Entourage. Both Microsoft projects, you would think you could make them work together. We also use Yahoo Small Business for webhosting which as I learned on the phone with tech support last week, they don't support mac users. Which is absolute crap if you ask me. 9/7/2009 11:39:55 AM |
