I still watch SNL. Some of the skits are kinda corny but there are still a few that are funny. I still watch it to get those funny ones. I mean if no one watched SNL anymore we would have all missed out on knowing what it's like to be on a boat, jizz in our pants, and get a dick in a box.

We also would have not know what it was like when Beyonce was filming her Single Ladies video.

But ftr, I wasn't really too impressed with them...the women on cast now aren't really that great, and there have been some really funny ones in the past.

there has been like 1 "bad" SNL time period: the early 80s when Lorne Michaels wasn't there

by the way i havent watched SNL in years, i think its complete garbage now

i think it has mostly to do with the way TV and Internet has made people too much alike, from coast to coast, since we are in such close contact we do not develop our own unique personalities anymore
therefore the cast is a bunch of no personality clones which can be replaced by anyone without anyone noticing

except i used to watch the show up until about 2004, and it became noticeably less funny? i'm not saying it was all because of will ferrell leaving. it just really seemed like the quality of the show went downhill. plus you started seeing a lot more of jimmy fallon, and watching him struggle to keep a straight face in every skit and all throughout weekend update was miserable. also i have a more old school sense of humor, and the shift in the type of humor that occurred on SNL this past decade was just not the kind of shit i found to be all that funny.

This is proof that there is no longer any need to watch SNL anymore. If anything makes it to that show that's even REMOTELY funny, it will get uploaded to youtube and posted a billion places on the internet so it will be impossible not to see.

I'll happily continue to let the few people that still watch SNL regularly be the screeners for anything that I need to watch.
