Remember how part of Obama's stump speech was that everyone could buy the same health insurance that members of Congress get? Whatever happened to that? Guess that is just more of the HOPE and CHANGE he was sellin. We HOPE that he keeps his word, but we see that he CHANGES his tune a lot. You can BELIEVE that 9/9/2009 9:43:20 PM |

too expensive and the fed union was against it (one of the few perks for fed employees). Unless there was another pool set up for non feds, since you do not have to worry about pre existing conditions the costs would sky rocket and your premiums would also. 9/9/2009 9:47:26 PM |

If you lose your job or change your job, you will be able to get coverage. If you strike out on your own and start a small business, you will be able to get coverage. We will do this by creating a new insurance exchange - a marketplace where individuals and small businesses will be able to shop for health insurance at competitive prices. Insurance companies will have an incentive to participate in this exchange because it lets them compete for millions of new customers. As one big group, these customers will have greater leverage to bargain with the insurance companies for better prices and quality coverage. This is how large companies and government employees get affordable insurance. It's how everyone in this Congress gets affordable insurance. And it's time to give every American the same opportunity that we've given ourselves." |
This is from his speech tonight
Quote : | "Now is the time to finally keep the promise of affordable, accessible health care for every single American. If you have health care, my plan will lower your premiums. If you don't, you'll be able to get the same kind of coverage that members of Congress give themselves." |
This is from his DNC speech. Sounds like he's still planning on that.

Actually Congress has a better plan then the regular federal employees. They also have a better retirement package...we should get that also!
OMG, everything someone says when they are trying to get elected is what they will really do....
No new taxes!

how about a link to a news story or something. You can't find it because:
1) He outsourced the job to Congress 2) He never tried to compromise

haha. That's not at all what he said on the campaign trail. he said "the same plan." Not "the same kind of coverage." Moving the goalposts for the win! 9/9/2009 10:04:15 PM |

hey, I appreciate you commenting, Shin. But how many times did he use the words "The exact same plan" on the campaign trail? Picking one instance where he said "kind of coverage" is disingenuous, when EVERYONE took his remarks to mean "the exact same plan." that's the whole point.
I'm telling OopsPowTroll to fuck off, because he is doing nothing but trolling. 9/9/2009 10:08:10 PM |

But you haven't offered one instance when he did say that. Your original post is uncompletely unsubstantiated and you still haven't defended it with ONE link, produce a link to him saying something "so many times" or STFU. 9/9/2009 10:10:56 PM |

You gotta love the Republicans on the board.
If Obama doesn't want to include Republicans, its a government takeover headed towards socialism.
If he does, then he is going back on his word, he must be untrustworthy.

this is hilarious. Obama can tell a bold-faced lie, and democrats will eat it up. It's wonderful.
Keep posting the same thing over and over, Shin. It might make a difference eventually. It won;t change the fact that Obama promised one thing and is giving us another

!= you will have the same insurance plan as a Congress[wo]man
it implies that you will be able to attempt to use the same methods that Congress can use to get affordable insurance. it's much less of a guarantee than it looks like a lot of people think it is.9/9/2009 10:50:06 PM |
