i don't frequent the sports section and tv shows are included in entertainment, so i posted here. actually the sports section never even crossed my mind.

why am i not a fan? i like to watch it, isn't that all that's required? i'd say about 50+% of what i watch on tv now is mma actually. that will change a little with new seasons of other shows starting up now, and i think we're getting close to caught up on all the reruns of ufc, wec, and hdnet fights.

yeah rampage (and the rest of his coaching staff) seemed pretty worthless to me, they just kept yelling "get up abe, get up" and everytime the ref would split them up they would yell "he's going to do it again". No fucking shit, that was his gameplan and obviously Abe couldnt do shit to stop it

It was a shitty matchup for Abe, but come the fuck on. He didn't even attempt to avoid the takedown or improve his position on the ground. I can see why Rampage would be pissed when the ref is basically giving him chance after chance to figure something out, but he just does the same lazy-punch followed by a duck and takedown. You'd think after the second time, he would try something else.

Heavyweights can be maddening to watch because sometimes they are exciting as hell and in the way they trade heavyhanded punches is awesome. On the other hand, there are way too many of them that get completely gassed after a minute and then the rest of the fight is lay and pray because neither of them have the energy to do anything.

Rampage may be a worthless coach and it's pretty clear that Rashad is gonna whip his ass on the show, but that dude gives me 4-5 literal laugh out loud moments a show. Dude is funny as hell.

Also, although its real early...todd duffee (a north carolina boy) 260 solid built like a freakin middleweight and athletic as shit with serious power..but hes kinda the same as shane carwin, all his fights are first round quick KOs so not much is known about him

he did knock out assuerio silva down in brazil and nobody knocks him out

but i dont think any "new" talent is gonna kick lenars ass but i know what you mean, i for one love lesnar and want him to RULE FOREVER in the division


Paul Buentello and Alistair overeem are reportedly trying to get out of their strikeforce contracts and get to the UFC. both are excellent strikers that could handle lesnar but how gunshy would they be constantly worrying about being takendown or gettin tied up by lesnar, or brock catching a kick

^dang...that sucks. i wonder when this years ultimate fighter was filmed/is being filmed. it could be really awkward if this is happening before TUF completes filming.

i would have liked seeing a rampage/evans fight in december...hopefully they can set it up for early next year.

Tuf was done filming a long time ago, long enough for the fighters two have a normal 6-8 week camp in preparation for the finale, not including just time off and training until they actually know who their opponent will be (then starts the focused camp)

the fight is supposed to be pushed back to early july but i hear that dana white is talkin like the evan/page fight is called off completely and rashad has mentioned wantign to fight anderson silva

Rashad made the right choice in this one, pickin kimbo this early cuts the time to develop him short and a loss would demoralize page and the team.


as far as the fight, james mcseweeney did what he had to do to survive a fighter with a tremendous reach advantage, strength and aggression that shivers had. Leg kick the shit out of him while stayin out of his range....for the first round


the second round he should have absolutely went for the freakin kill he was slipp shivers punches the kicks had shivers leanin on the cage to stand, and shivers was gassed. even in the first shivers never lifted his hands to his chin

shivers was doing a good job of throwing the counter to the kicks, but he wasnt landing the counters

it was supposed to be a showcase win for james but he gassed almost just as bad as shivers

but i must say a couple of times mcsweeny backed up away from shivers it was because he was getting shivers away from his corner to cut off the communication.


i personally am weird but i thought the fight was good, and that mcsweeney clearly won especially with the right cross headkick combo he landed at the end

his takedown d sucks tho, hes not winnin this show ill tell you that

Plus, Evans was talking about how Roy doesn't take any coaching, so having him get knocked off the show would be best.

i didn't think that was a good fight last night. it's frustrating to me to just watch them stand there exhausted while i'm screaming at them in my head to move forward, follow up, knock him down, etc.

i agree about kimbo vs roy. i don't think they would have hyped kimbo up so much if he's going to leave on the 3rd episode. roy gets on my nerves.

I think the point was not that the fight was rigged, but that the show wouldn't necessarily have been built up so much around one guy that gets beat so early. It is Kimbo Slice, so he is gonna generate interest regardless, but they sometimes show fights out of chronological order, so it would make sense to build the suspense longer than three episodes if he was gonna get beat.
