Booked a trip that leaves this Thursday because my PE teacher said I couldn't take the final early (its a half semester course). Well today she lets us know she changed her mind and we can take it early

The airline policy is that you can only fly standby on the same date as the flight you booked or you can pay the $150 change fee and get a new ticket. The later is out of the question and I'm already booked on the first flight out on Thursday. I'd like to leave tomorrow or Wednesday. Long shot but any ideas?

Just call them and ask. If their flights are relatively empty the day you want to do standby they might let you do it.

A couple of State's PE courses are half semesters. There's a PS course like that too.

dont call it standby...thats a non existent term in the airline industry now days...call it early departure or something...never stand by...they will automatically be like NOPE.

Call them up or go into the airport and ask to get your ticket changed. I've had my flight changed (only by a few hours, never a day) but they're usually willing to do it if the fare price is the same.

And have fun in Chicago! Eat some Chicago grub while you're up there!
