Opening game is on right now on Versus. Jim Fassel leads the Las Vegas Locos against Dennis Green and the California Redwoods. The other 2 teams in the league are the Florida Tuskers and the New York Sentinels.

The main question is will the league last longer than the XFL.

XFL lasted a season?

I'm watching the game, we'll see what happens.

Yeah, ratings dropped to basically zero after about a month. I'm going between this game and the Mizzou-Nebraska.

Well, luckily for the UFL, it's only got to go a month and a half. Championship is Thanksgiving weekend for them.

So the UFL will handle overtime like college, with each team getting at least one offensive possession.

No tuck rule, QBs can intentionally ground, endzone celebrations are allowed.

Evidently there will be a season next year too. A lot of money has gone into this from what I'm reading.

It looks like they are not trying to compete with the NFL, but provide a development league/league for former NFL players who were in the league for about 3-4 years.

^^The profile is correct. Someone made a mistake on the roster page.

One of the commentators said the refs were wearing the Tiger Woods Sunday outfit.

yeah, the only way teams take off in non-NFL teams is if they're in non-NFL markets. when the USFL was around, apparently the Jacksonville team drew big, therefore they got the Jags later on.

3 of these teams play in or near established teams, so unless they're gonna go play in San Antonio or Portland or Oklahoma City, I doubt we'll hear from the UFL after this year.
