Not only could he not catch a routine line drive to end the game with 2 outs in the ninth, it hit em in the nuts and they lost in the ninth and will now probably lose the series. Sucks for him. 10/8/2009 9:21:52 PM |

I didn't watch the game but honestly, the fact that Larussa put in that worthless piece of shit Franklin tells me that he has no interest in winning. 10/8/2009 9:23:41 PM |

Yeah and I've also watched the last month where he put up a 7.56 ERA and 3 blown saves. 10/8/2009 10:52:13 PM |

If you are going to call out players, at least learn how to spell their names correctly. 10/8/2009 11:14:12 PM |

He also had one fucking save since September 5th.
Smoltz was warming up, why didn't Tony use him?10/9/2009 2:42:13 AM |

I'm not exactly sure why he wasn't pulled either. He obviously didn't have hit and especially after the tying run, you have to make that switch. Maybe he was thinking he would use him for another inning? 10/9/2009 8:11:54 AM |

I was just letting the game refresh on ESPN so I didn't actually see anything.... other than the fact that he was putting Franklin in with 1 out. At that point, I pretty much knew it was over. I don't know why in the world you would put a pitcher in the game that has been throwing up meatballs the last month and a half. It just makes no sense. Actually, I will go as far as to say why the fuck would you take Wainright out at all? I obviously wasn't there to see, but the fact is Adam had given up 3 hits the whole night and statistically was dominating. Our bullpen has been nothing short of a big glob of shit for what seems like the whole season, so why not keep our Cy Young nominee on the field as long as possible. It's like football coaches who feel they HAVE to play the prevent defense in the 4th quarter..... so fucking annoying. 10/9/2009 8:27:54 AM |

yeah holliday could have closed out the game, but if franklin hadn't thrown for two walks, a hit and a wild pitch immediately after that, he could/should have closed out the game too. I hate to see all the blame put on holliday 10/9/2009 8:32:05 AM |

^AND Huston Street....sounds like a good deal to me. The Rockies weren't going to be able to keep him. 10/9/2009 10:42:51 PM |
