When RW was showing miracles last fall, it was exciting. When our team was exposed by Duke, it makes it very hard to cheer. The ra ra at any cost just doesn't cut it once the team has played its way out of a bowl

we don't have any magic bullet like last year (russel) to get us over the hump

I never, ever root for State to lose in anything. I do occasionally just wish the pro teams I like would pack it in and get better draft positions.

For example the Braves. This year, they had a chance and I would never have rooted against them. The last few years prior, I wish they had just given up, not made dumbass trades like the Teixeria trade, and just accepted that they sucked and got higher draft positions. Same thing with some of the NFL teams I root for.

I think this team is going to do a lot better than people expect. The loss of Fells, Costner, and McCauley isn't nearly as big as people make it out to be, the ACC is in a down year, and we finally have some experience at the guard positions. Hell, we'll have one of the most experienced back courts on Tobacco Road. Off the top of my head I can't think of another team with a starting point guard returning.

I'm thinking we make it to the NIT easy, and we'll find ourselves on the bubble for the tournament, but probably won't be able to close it out.
