I know this won't change our horrid defense, but why are we going to try and turn 5'11" Wilson into a pocket passer when we have a 6'6" protypical pocket passer in Glennon who already fits the mold? And looked pretty good today besides that floater pick (which I attribute to BC defense playing 100% the pass).

If we aren't going to take advantage of Wilson's abilities and give him a chance to succeed then what's the point?

Glennon didn't exactly look sharp out there. Playing the pass or not the pick was pretty bad and he threw one right to a LB to end that last drive.

I do agree that they're trying to hard to make Russell a pocket passer though. He looked much better last season when they just let him make his primary reads and then take off if no one looked open.

^ yeah well when the defense is playing 100% for the pass I'd say the odds are against any inexperienced QB in that situation.

The staff clearly wants a pocket passer and I think Glennon would be better at it then what Wilson has shown trying to hang in the pocket. Might as well put him in there to get some experience in since the season is over and he's supposed to be our future.

its easy to criticize Russell's mistakes when the (lack of) defense forces him to have to throw deep a lot more often

you don't exactly have the luxury of being able to pull safeties into the box over the threat of the run when you're routinely down by 2-3 touchdowns

^^ he was looking pretty shitty before we were down 2 or 3 touchdowns. This game I noticed he was really trying to sit in the pocket (what TOB said he was coaching him to try and do more) and I honestly don't think he can see over the linemen as short as he is.

He was much better when he was just running around like a wild asshole.
