i was just going to make this thread.

football season's over. time to move on. we're gonna suck this season in basketball but we'll play hard, and with the recruiting class coming in next season, we'll be happy with sid and the state of the bball program by the end of this season.

anybody listen to what the players and lowe have said about the team this year and how it's so much different from last year? julius mays especially was pwnin mccauley, fells, and costner, saying they cared more about scoring 30 pts a game than winning, and said they even tried to position players against lowe. unbelievable. another reason why i was saying all of last year that losing them would be addition by subtraction. i'm especially glad that costner didn't choose to stick around another year.

this season will be a lot like sid's first year for me...we'll suck, we'll play hard, i'll enjoy watching the games, and we'll pull off a couple big wins.

Well he has nowhere to go but up in my book. 10th, 12th, 10th place ACC finishes can speak for themselves. I don't give a damn how hard we play if no results show.

As for Julius Mays quote, I hope he backs his talk and has improved or else we're fucked again with him/Javi/Degand yet again. Degand should not play period.

Julius Mays should have kept his mouth quiet. Absolutely ZERO reason for someone to do this. I hate it when kids try and throw people who aren't there anymore under the bus. And he didn't mention any names (shockingly I've heard Ferg was a big problem for some reason).

And if anyone questions Fells toughness they need to get off their asses and try and do ANYTHING with a high ankle sprain. This motherfucker played half the season with one and barely missed any time...

^ we have no experienced talent aside from Smith. Looooonggggg season this year. Next year we'll be borderline NCAA (unless we also get Leslie) and then we should be a Top 4 ACC team in two years if he gets that long. With the way UNC and Duke are recruiting right now, we have virtually zero chance to jump them anytime soon.

[Edited on October 18, 2009 at 9:39 AM. Reason : from a strictly talent based area]

i agree he should have kept quiet. that stuff doesn't need to be public.

but a part of me is glad he said it, because it proves what i always thought- that herb's recruits were cancers. and i'm glad those cancers are gone. and obviously the players there now are too. is it going to make us better this year now that our top scorers from last year are gone? no. but it shows you how difficult sid had it. it doesn't matter what talent herb left sid with, when that talent is described by their teammates as douchebags who care more about their ppg than wins.
