Gojira was really good, their drummer is awesome.

Lamb of God was pretty good also, though their sound tech's had the bass too high and mids and trebles too low.

Metallica puts on a great show. Sad But True is awesome live as was Seek and Destroy.

I went to the show Saturday night in Charlottesville. Great show, the casket laser show was pretty cool.

yeah they could have done more of that, the laser's hitting on Rob Trujillo's bass was a great effect.

Saw this show (my 7th time) and going here in NYC on the 14th and 15th. Show is identical to the tour from earlier this year, but that's ok because it's the best they've put on since I first saw them at Summer Sanitarium.

I'd like to see them drop The Day that Never Comes, not the greatest concert song and the crowd died a bit (first time I've seen that at a Metallica concert)

Love that they played Turn the Page though.

Wanted to post this in the Grammy thread but too lazy to PM a mod

How is it that Death Magnetic songs can be nominated for Grammy awards in both 2008 and 2009?

And if the answer is something along the lines of the album release date being during some loophole month where they can be nominated in both years...why?

This is the set list from the Charlotte Show

That Was Just Your Life
The End of the Line
For Whom the Bell Tolls
The Four Horsemen
One
Broken, Beaten, and Scarred
Cyanide
Sad But True
Turn the Page
The Judas Kiss
The Day That Never Comes
Master of Puppets
Fight Fire With Fire
Nothing Else Matters
Enter Sandman

Encore
Too Late Too Late (Motorhead Cover)
Phantom Lord
Seek and Destroy

also the Unforgiven III is nominated not Death Magnetic, which got billboard notice during the period that was open for nominations.

^^According to Grammy.com on eligibility:

Quote :
"For recordings released during the Eligibility Year
October 1, 2008 through August 31, 2009"

I mean I could see an argument that the single was released later, but the song was released as part of the album, which came out September 2009...just weird and seems like it's not within the spirit of the awards...what's to stop Meatloaf from re releasing a different single every year just for consideration
