We are looking to hire a part-time engineering aide and an entry level engineer for a well established employee-owned electric utility engineering firm.

Typical job duties include:
- Calculation of electrical loads
- Planning studies
- Equipment specifications
- Transmission and Distribution system design
- Substation design
- Electric system sectionalizing and protection design
- Preparation of bid and construction contracts

For the entry level position, we are seeking a recent electrical engineering graduate or graduating engineer, preferrably with a focus on power and controls. Having previous experience and/or EI certification is a plus but not required. We offer benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

For the part-time engineering aide, we are seeking a current engineering student that is preferrably in their sophomore or junior year. We offer flexible hours and an office located just minutes from NCSU campus.

Good point... eleusis might want to review Master_Yoda's claim to fame in this thread where he admits to getting two professors removed and asking advice on how to dispatch a third. I'm sure he's just the kind of team player you guys are looking for. He can do absolutely no wrong!

Joe, what department are you working in now? Are you still with Georgia Power?

I wish I knew a little bit more about substation relaying and SCADA sometimes, but I prefer the one-off challenges of working on distribution systems more.

has southern company been installing additional regulator banks all over their system so they can lower the voltage at the substation? Duke and Progress are doing that all over NC, and I'd be interested to see if anyone else is doing it or if it's just an NC thing.
