I'm selling a Masterbuilt 28-QT. Electric Digital Turkey Fryer. It can fry up to a 14lb turkey. I've used it mainly for wings and chicken. It works as a boiler, steamer as well. This is intended for indoor use. Everything that came with it is in the box, including manual and brochure/cookbook. Asking price is $50.

how thick are the sides on this thing? Would it hold heat outside around thanksgiving? We love deep fried turkey, but the propane fryer gave out last year. Also looking for something wind proof. 11/11/2009 12:02:59 AM |

I have one.
def NOT dangerous as it does not use an open flame or any gas for that matter
It's a $200+ fryer.
I received one for free when i worked for a hotel where the company was trying to pitch to Butterball for a sponsor. They shipped 4 in to use in the pitch and gave them all to employees
I have steamed/boiled shrimp, crab legs, mussels, oysters and fried turkeys and chicken wings in mine all indoors without any problem. It is not intended for outdoor use as it says in the instruction manual and is basically just a supersized fry daddy.

^Thanks Keb.
One other thing to note. The digital Control makes frying really easy. I've used outdoor propane fryers and controlling temperature can be a pain in the ass. All you have to do on this is set the temperature and since it's electric, the fryer will maintain the temperature for you. It will also alarm you when it has reached starting temperature, so you don't have to babysit it while it heats up.
^^This is completely safe. There are no open flames so the possibilities of starting a fire are much less than a propane fryer.
^^^The walls are thick enough to prevent you from hurting yourself. Just like your oven you can have this set at 300+ without having to worry about it. I'm not sure if its "windproof," once again, this is an indoor fryer.
^^^^ I'm asking $50 but thanks for the bump 11/11/2009 1:10:12 PM |
