Comes out Sunday.

Got an 8.5 from Gamespot and a 8.9 from IGN. Both site says the game gets pretty tough starting with World 2.

booooo. i don't like hearing that it's tough. i don't want it to be super simple, but i hate having to play the same world 15 times to get past it. same thing happened with galaxy. man that's disappointing.

after watching the review video at ign, i might add it to my xmas list anyway

seriously? galaxy was easy as hell.

there were like 3 or 4 hard levels at most and they certainly weren't required to progress.

how is it disappointing when a game is more challenging? and i dont understand your complaint with galaxy. i can only think of one or two stars that gave me a hard time. sure it was frustrating at the time, but i'd much rather have a few bumps in the road than smooth sailing the entire way through, especially when there's no option to raise or lower the difficulty.

i haven't played galaxy in a very very long time and i have no clue where it was, but i got stuck somewhere late in the game. i'm not the only one, i know others who did too. i'm not sure why it's hard to understand that it was disappointing to me. i was not happy with galaxy bc i got stuck, so if this one indeed gets difficult at level 2, depending on how many levels there are, there's presumably a chance that i will get stuck earlier. but maybe not if i can just not play that section.

i'm not a hardcore gamer except when it comes to rock band. i like run and jump side scrollers much much better than the 3d run around everywhere types, so i might actually do better with this one. i also don't play FPSs or things like final fantasy, any of those war games, halo, etc. that's just not my scene. the only things i'll sit down and play for longer than an hour are rock band, littlebigplanet, and the sims.

Only level that gave me a hard time in Galaxy...in the toy universe, where you have to collect an assload of coins from the tiles that rotate and/or go away when you touch them....fuck that noise.

i was thinking this game was going to be pretty tough after reading about how it's got the helper if you die 8 or more times in a stage.

its about time they made another mario game that was hard as shit. if only they'd do the same with zelda.

^^ that star DID kinda suck. the one i hated the most was one level thats a spaceship and you collect the 100 purple coins. you're on a moving platform the whole time and if you miss even one, you're fucked.

Galaxy was a breeze. When I was a kid the original Super Mario Bros. was seriously hardcore in comparison and took forever. I'm in favor of a little more difficulty, but don't want it to be completely frustrating just for the sake of being hard.

what I like is how the game utilizes all the best features of Mario World and Mario 3 and New Super Mario Bros. Its got Yoshis, the koopa kids, and the great controls and style of the DS game.

Tried out 3 players today, some of the levels get kind of cramped, can't imagine how 4 players would be. End up shoving each other off the platforms just trying to all stay on.

World 2 is hard! Those fountain sand towers...WHEW! Hard. Me and boyfriend played until our Wii remotes died. He keeps pushing me off ledges and shit though. Sometimes two player makes it MORE difficult and sometimes easier.
