I just got 7, have essentials... would you guys suggest AV software? If so, I ran across this free AV, but was not certain about it - seems good.
Anyone running AV on 7? Anyone recommend something other than Avira?

Security Essentials IS antivirus. And yes, Windows users should still have antivirus protection. The benefits still outweigh the risks for most users. 11/15/2009 10:27:39 AM |

I ended up buying a license to ESET Smart Security / NOD32. I don't know if it's better than others, but I am pleased with it. The software is always downloading virus updates (2-3 times a day?) and doesn't slow my computer down. 11/15/2009 10:28:51 AM |

Me and the other guys in our IT dept. all use AVG Free at home. That with an occasional scan of Malwarebytes seems to get anything. 11/15/2009 10:49:19 AM |

Since we're on the subject, has anyone else tried out the new Panda Cloud Antivirus? I tried it in a VM at work... like the simplified user interface, dislike the general lack of control. 11/15/2009 11:01:44 AM |
