you know

i'm starting to really think that nostalgia in music overtakes most people

their tastes dont really evlove as they grow older, and the scene changes

that's why "all new music sucks" to everyone, independant of their chosen genre

and why my dad only listens to 70s classic rock

and why i prefer shit from late 90s-early 00s

not that it's a bad thing, but it's just kinda how it is.

granted, i'll still listen to mostly new stuff, but still think older stuff is better, even though it may not be, it just may be for me

Most of stuff id the collection I amassed while in school dont have the time or super bandwidth to expand upon it now.

[Edited on November 19, 2009 at 2:13 PM. Reason : Oh yeah, I still rock out to them on occasion.]

see that was the newest shit i've listened to in a while

i constantly just pull out short music for short people or anti-flag stuff, instead of finding new bands

is it cause raleigh seems flooded with hip local bands, or am i missing the local punk scene? is there one?

Not really new, although I really like "Revolutions Per Minute" if the OP hasn't listened to them.

They must have gotten better since "Is a Real Boy" then.

not to get into the whole "what exactly constitutes as 'punk'" argument, but i'm not sure i would ever think to classify bayside and say anything as punk. just my opinion, though.

ahh gotcha. i love bayside too. i'm not sure i have any suggestions because i'm not sure i really know what "punk" is.

if senses fail and silverstein are "punk" then i guess i like punk. i would think more like nofx, the swellers, fireworks, etc...but who knows.
