just watched it the other night, loved it, again,
but i has a lot of interesting facts along with it

it was based on a 60's french short film called "La Jetee", its currently on netflix and is equally if not more awsome

the director also directed fear and loathing in las vagas, another awsome movie
unfortunately thats the only two good films he ever made, except brazil which i havent seen

/rant

what is your top 10 scifi movies

Wrong. First off, see Brazil, it's by far his best. It's my personal favorite movie of all time.

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen is great.
Time Bandits is great.
The Fisher King is great.

That, too, but I didn't include the Monty Python stuff because it was more of a group effort, whereas the stuff I referenced are strictly Gilliam films.

We had to watch this in my Time Travel class. Very interesting movie. Although I can't remember if its actually plausible or not...I don't believe it was.

I liked tideland a good bit. 12 Monkeys, Fisher King, and Time Bandits were all good. I never really got on board the Monty Python boat. I get why people like it, I just don't care for it that much.

Brazil was good, but I always felt like I was "watching a well acclaimed film" instead of being fully immersed... if that makes sense. Maybe I need to give it another watch.

***SPOILER****

I really think the end of the world will be like they do in the movie. Releasing a deadly airborn contagious virus into a major international airport. It would be almost impossible to contain when you consider the sheer amount of people that you would initially infect and then they would fly off all over the world infecting tons of people along the way. There is no way in hell you could quarantine that many people in so many locations.

sure there is. shut down every airport in the world, shoot down any planes still in the sky, quarantine cities with airports and declare martial law in them with house arrest for all citizens. let doctors work on cure. profit.

ok im done watching Brazil
if you have 2 hours of nothing else to do, and you're in the mood for self punishment then watch this movie
although you might find one scene that might make the whole movie worth it

it was a big part of the 1984 craze (came out in 85). it isn't too original but at the time the visuals were pretty impressive.

Not gonna work. By the time people start showing symptoms they are already going to be home and or to their desired destination. Ebola, while not air born, yet, doesnt show symptoms for a few days. If it was airborn and released in an airport, there is no way you could stop it. Its not like the terrorists are going to go into the airport and be like "Hey everybody, we are releasing Ebola into the air! You are all fucked" And you can just shut down the airport or, god forbid, shoot the planes out of the sky. The beauty of it is that you won't know it has even happened until its too late.

The class is Existentialism. The professor uses time travel as a prism with which to explore ideas related to existentialism.

you find the story creative?? i think the movie would have been bigger if it had any sort of surprising twist or plot.

as it is its just a 1984 clone thats well written and visually appealing
