'04 chevy colorado, ext cab. water leaking into cab... potentially multiple sources.

I've sprayed all the door seals (nothing), back window (small leak), and cab intake cowl (nothing so far). for large rain events the carpet gets soaked and water can be found on both sides and ends of the cab. I pulled everything out of it earlier this week to clean up the carpet.

I know the back windshield is leaking at the top near both ends, but it seems fairly minor from my spraying water test (though, it may not be minor for a prolonged rainfall event).

there's a TSB for a leak in the cab intake cowl where something is not sealed... http://www.justanswer.com/questions/27noz-i-have-a-2004-colorado-when-it-rains-i-am-getting-water-on.
This seems fairly simple. I haven't had a chance to go through this procedure, but just looking around under the cowl, I couldn't see anything that looked like an opening and I can't make sense of where this TSB says to seal...

when I sprayed the cowl, I didn't notice any water getting in and there's no evidence, that I can find, of water getting in

Can anyone make sense of that part of the TSB? What's the best method to get the rear window sealed (window repair company?)? I'm going to try to pull the ceiling tomorrow to see if there's water damage/mold/etc. This is a big issue for me because of 1) smell when the windows are left up all day 2) allergies

Lots of times this kind of shit is covered by the manufacturer longer than you may think- you should call the dealership.

ANYONE HAVE A HOSE AND WATER I CAN USE? it may be the center brake light - the gasket isn't fully sealing and I want to test it.

^que?

ended up just getting a new center brake light and the rear leak seems to have been fixed. I still want to look at the possible issue under the cowling... any ideas on that yet?

check the break light in the back and also any other lights on the roof.. my c7500 leaked big time in the headliner, turned out that chevy's robots torqued the clearance lights too much and thus it leaked.

^I replaced the center brake light assembly (GM won't provide just a seal since its epoxied on. I may have been able to save some money by looking through junkyards/trying to find another type of seal, but I didn't think it was worth the time and I'm tired of the leak). then I took it to a car wash and tested it out... no water so I'm hoping that was it.

I also just turned what would probably have been a $300-$350 repair into a free one the left side of my grille was loose and squeaking like hell. I took it off and found that a clip had worn down a plastic part of the grille. I took the clip off, put some weather stripping on the plastic piece the clip sits on, reassembled everything and no more squeak! I'm not the most mechanically inclined so small victories like this make me happy

i was going to suggest checking the CHMSL (center high mounted stop lamp). seems to be a common problem with gm trucks. mine started to leak so i pulled it, applied a thin bead of silicon on the gasket, reinstalled it, and no more leaks. i'm waiting for the roof marker lamps to start anyday.

You bought a CHMSL assembly instead of a $3 tube of clear silicone.

I considered sealing it... I already have sealer... but I decided I didn't want to go that route.
