as a ongoing project i want to post some good resources for the truth about these topics. i think its important that these things are shared.
some of you i know already go to mises.org, but it is a great site that really promotes a free market for all.
i recently read two books that were good short summaries of their topics. they were The Politically Incorrect Guide to US HIstory and 33 Questions about US HIstory that Youre Not Supposed to Ask. Both are by Thomas Woods, who has a PHD in History, so he's a noted historian who also knows alot about economics and the free market and how christianity and capitalism go hand in hand. these books answer alot of questions about things like welfare and how government aid to the poorest end up harming them by making them dependent on the government. this also keeps democrats in power and some republicans as well. i especially thought the last part of 33 Things YOure Not Supposed to Ask about US History was cool. It's about SB Fuller, who showed that black people in American had the tools on their own to succeed without government laws to help them. he told it like it was and told the truth: that most blacks who are liberals reject imagination, initiative, and enterprise and think that government is the way out. meanwhile Mr. Fuller started a business from the bottom and ended up owning 8 corporations. a real inspiration for me and im not even black. you can do what you want, if government leaves you alone and lets you do what you want with your money. 1/15/2010 3:57:25 PM |

While you're on a history kick, let me recommend A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn. He's a noted historian, and the book is all about how the Native Americans benefited from free market capitalism.
