Of course, this presumes Air America was hate-mongering in the first place, or that they just had poor programming.


As much as I think Rush Limbaugh is an ignorant fuck-tard, I don't think he's quite as full of hate as he is portrayed.

You really can't assert that unless you can demonstrate that a smaller % of total self-identified liberals watch MSNBC than self-identified conservatives watch Fox etc.

that seems almost self-evident based on the sheer number of people who watch fox news versus msnbc.

not to mention, only a couple of shows on msnbc are particularly liberal (mostly olbermann, maddow and matthews -- though matthews sometimes just veers off into his own world)

I don't know that that's necessarily true, I mean for just a few recent examples, you don't have to look any further than Bush, Palin or even the battle between Hillary and Obama during the election season. I think it's more that the tone of liberal hate is different from conservative hate.

Conservative hate ascribes malice and forethought to their targets. The message is "These people are lying to you and conning you and trying to ruin your life."

Liberal hate seems to just view their targets as inferior and subhuman. The message is "These people are too stupid to run things and they're ruining everything. Look how stupid they are, everything they do is a joke."

It seems to me people just get tired of constantly picking on the slow kid. Battling "evil" is much more entertaining if it's really "evil" as opposed to "stupid"
