Just saw this movie and LOLed quite a bit. It spoofs '70s blaxploitation films.

Tommy Davidson from In Living Color is in it, so is Arsenio Hall briefly, lol. Anybody else seen this much less heard of it? Old topic is dead, only mentioned the trailer.

Heard this is pretty bad.

It seems pretty silly to spoof movies that are already pretty much spoofs.

Which is a problem that Austin Powers ran into.

I saw this in the theater a couple weeks ago. My friend actually made a cake with the quote "Your knowledge of scientific biological transmogrificiation is outmatched only by your zest for kung fu treachery!" (we're engineering grad students, btw).

It's not really spoofing these things. It's made to appear as if it was filmed in the 70s instead of last year, with all the cheesy dialogue and low-budget effects. Like in one scene, one of the boom mikes is in the corner of the picture and the guy talking gets distracted. Or in another fight scene they make a really terrible edit and swap out one actor for another.

Definitely over the top, but plenty of good lines. There was a leaked version that has much more content than the theatrical version.

yea my favorite editing "mistake" was when 2 guys were fighting and one of them slapped the other a little too hard and he gets out of character and is like "Damn mutha fucka (with a look on his face like, why did you hit me so hard)" then it skips frames back to them fighting again haha.

^^ And yea it's bad, but in a good way. The acting is supposed to be bad and over the top, the premise is supposed to be ridiculous, and the fight scenes look a notch above a Steven Seagal movie

finally got to see it tonight, HOLY SHIT this movie was fucking awesome, it was pretty fucking relentless in the comedy, almost every line or shot was a joke or setup for a joke, and it was just done really really well, it truely feels like a 70's blaxpoloitation movie, i'd recommend everyone check this out.

Released in 2009, feels straight 80s...pretty awesome.
