So i was just thinking, how cool would it be if we took the best players in the NFL, put them together on a team according to college conference affiliation, and then had some sort of playoff to determine conference supremacy? Not like some stupid pro-bowl have assed game(s), I'm talking full force high level maximum game effort...

Players would be restricted to playing for the conference they were in at the time they played (ex. BC, Miami players to the Big East if before the expansion)

Who would field the best conference team?
Who would have the best QBs, WRs, RBs, etc?

Though Conference USA wouldn't field much anything else, how sick would a backfield of Deangelo Williams and Chris Johnson be.

The ACC would have some serious firepower, as well as the PAC 10 and would be a sick nasty matchup. Mario Williams/Julius Peppers rushing Sanchez, Palmer, Rodgers...

What would some other awesome matchups be?

i think it would be awesome if the best college players had a league to play in once their college eligibility had expired

then again you'd probably have to pay them a lot

I imagine the SEC would still dominate.

You could field a team of just Miami alum, Va Tech alum, Phil, Peppers, and Mario... and you'd still do pretty damn well.

Who would be the big 12's QB? Vince Young?

He's the best I can think of.

ACC: Rivers/Shaub
SEC: Manning/Manning
B10: Brady/Brees
Pac10: Rodgers/Palmer
BigE: McNabb

Actually, C-USA would have a better offense then any BCS conference

Williams and Johnson in the backfield

Favre and Garrard at QB

and Moss, Roddy White and Brandon Marshall at receiver

why wouldnt they sand bag your retarded game also? I like the pro bowl cuz a nigga can sit back and laugh while enjoying the game with no sort of emotional investment in the result

I'd give the nod to the Big East since they had Miami and Va Tech for awhile

fuck David Garrard throwing to Roddy White...I'll take Michael Vick throwing to Reggie Wayne and Andre Johnson

try not to be too much of an ECU homer, mmk

Garrard is just the backup, Favre would do all the heavy lifting

they should do like a national cup every four years where each state has a team.

I was just thinking of something kinda like this today. I wish we could get the All-ACC teams to play the All-Other conference teams. I think in my head I was thinking about basketball, but football would be pretty cool too.

[Edited on February 3, 2010 at 10:01 PM. Reason : not past teams, just like the 09 All ACC vs 09 All SEC, etc]

how many Miami and VT alum played in the ACC who are worth a damn?

(i'm not saying there aren't any, its just not what those schools produced before the conference change)

also, fyi, when guys like Ray Lewis were playing at THE U, they were still an Independent team / before joining the Big East

doesnt apply to ballers like Andre, Reggie, Shockey, Frank Gore, etc, but worth noting

It's not bad at all, just not what the two schools produced in the same number of years prior to expansion.
