Old topic was dead.
Movie comes out in about two weeks. Although it doesn't technically look to be a zombie film, the trailer definitely gives it a zombie-esque feel. I'm looking forward to it.

Seems to me that it's a zombie film that tries to paint itself as not a zombie film since the people are just "infected" instead of dead/reanimated. 2/11/2010 12:36:53 PM |

Been looking forward to this, just wish it had a title that didn't make it sound like a dumb 90's comedy. 2/11/2010 1:50:44 PM |

you people seem to have no idea that this is a remake, the original being made in 1973, with the same title, way before any "dumb 90's comedy" and written and directed by George Romero the daddy of all zombie movies, so yeah it may have a "zombie-esque feel" 2/11/2010 2:16:23 PM |

I made a topic in october raving about this trailer, because it's a great trailer. The last thirty seconds are fucking sexy, despite the overused song.
Timothy Olyphant is the man.
Will see. 2/11/2010 9:12:43 PM |

Very good "zombie" movie!
Loved it. They way everything was handled was well done. How it happened and the responses from the different people all seemed realistic for the most part.
Go see it. 2/28/2010 8:52:55 PM |

I loved it.
First time I've been satisfied with a "scary" movie in a long time. My girlfriend was freaking out. The suspenseful "jump out" parts were really well done too. 3/1/2010 9:31:22 AM |

The only part that annoys me is that they put too much in the trailers. When they were strapped down to the tables and you could hear the scraping, anyone who saw the trailer knew it was the dude with the pitchfork. The part when she went into the nursery, you already knew there was a zombie in there hanging out in the corner. The part at the end when they nuke the city, you knew that was gonna happen as it showed the truck getting hit with the blast wave in the trailer. Great movie though. 3/1/2010 11:04:10 AM |

Not a spoiler if its in the trailer, fuckface.
Besides, the movie has been out for a few days. If you don't want to hear stuff about it, don't click on a thread where you know people will be talking about it. Go cry with mambagrl.

Good point. I kept saying to my girlfriend, "Oh...I remember this from the trailer."
However, each scene that I remember from the trailer that was in the movie had a lot extra that at least didn't "spoil" the scene for me. There was a lot more suspense in that scene with the guy and the pitchfork that wasn't in the trailer. As well as the woman in the nursery...I sure as hell didn't predict the rest of the stuff that happened in the situation. The only thing that was really spoiled was the big explosion at the end...however, it wasn't until they got in the truck that I remembered it from the trailer. The movie did a good job of making me forget about it.3/1/2010 11:23:15 AM |

*********SPOILER ALERT*********
I didn't like when Elephant gave Russell his pistol back at the end only to see him drop the magazine and empty the chamber. Half that bullshit in the truck stop could have been avoided if he armed his wife instead. Pretty sure the trigger happy military would have been just as convinced with a *lip smack-wink-fingergun point*.

this movie suuuuuuuuuucked
the wife was a helpless idiot who did nothing but get into scrapes so she could be saved by her dashing husband. In fact, most of the people in this movie were idiots. Leave your wife (who by now is a well-established annoying and helpless idiot) alone while you investigate a corpse-filled truck stop. Great plan.
Also this movie may hold the record for most "villian-gets-shot-just-in-the-nick-of-time" moments.
Also the moment in the truck stop where the wife pauses to drink some bottled water ... I was confused whether it would turn out to be a plot point or Aquafina product placement. Guess I gave the movie too much credit to even think it might've been a plot point.
My only consolation is that the main characters will die of radiation poisoning in the next few days. ] 3/6/2010 3:39:48 PM |

Maybe like a big pumpkin bomb?? It's kind of like an atom bomb without the nuclear shit.
And the wife was pregnant...I never really expected her to do much. She did slam the slam the shit out of that "crazy's" head on the car when they were going through the car wash. The only time I was frustrated was when they left each other alone in the truck stop and when they gave the deputy the gun.

That's how you get suspense in a horror movie. Have you ever seen a scary movie before? If you did, did you like them?? Because that's what happens in all of them.

Huh?? What kind of plot point where you expecting from it? It was used to show the "crazy" behind her and to re-iterate the fact that they can't drink tap water. Were you looking for some kind of 6th Sense twist??
I'll say it again...I thought the movie was solid. The suspenseful parts were great and they did a good job of not leaving too many holes in the story. Best scary movie I've seen in a while.3/6/2010 6:32:26 PM |

You can be up to 3 months and not show. They had already built a fucking baby room...she was probably a little more than a couple weeks pregnant.
But that's besides the point...she tried to get out of the strapped in bed while screaming and ended up saving a friend. She also head slammed a "crazy" on to the hood of a car and shot another one at the gas stop (I think I remember that happening..). What exactly did you want her to do...go on a crazy killing spree?? I don't think for a second I thought of her as a weakling in this movie. I think the fact that she didn't turn into a Navy Seal made the movie a little more realistic. I can't stand it when normal people turn into super heroes in horror movies and movies in general.
And yeah...I've been very disappointed in horror movies for the past few years. This was a very pleasant surprise.

Better than the hills have eyes, worse then the texas chainsaw massacre (2004?) so if you liked those movies then youll like this one...if you want to see it, rent it. Its not worth the money, and pretty boring in my opinion. All the suspense was telegraphed. I just saw it coming a mile away. Couldnt get into it because of that. 3/8/2010 11:03:59 AM |

But I got my answer when they captured that gov't agent on the highway (before the deputy shot him). He said the incubation was 48 hours and if you didn't get sick after that you were fine. Thus it wouldn't matter if his blood mixed with someone else's infected blood.3/8/2010 4:45:29 PM |

There might not have been enough time from the infection to the end of the movie to show symptoms.
How much time passed? He could have been infected.

BTTT just saw this on DVR from halloween.
As for the ending, I thought it meant that city had been exposed in some form or fashion and they were going to get rid of that city as well...in the credits you see an infected person appear so Im sure that is the case.
Good movie overall though, some parts that were predictable but its a horror movie, so that is typical.

I've seen the original, because I was a huge Romero fan long before the recent zombie obsession. It was okay, but definitely no "Day of the Dead" or "Dawn of the Dead" (or "Night of the Living Dead"). I never saw the remake though. 11/7/2013 9:33:25 AM |
