Hello,
My name is bob and i think i would be a great addition to your computer career program. I believe i would be a great addition to your school and know that i would be a hard worker. Let me tell you why I would make a good candidate.
First, I am highly motivated, my current career as a entertainer has not allowed me to pursue the family that I wish to have. I frequently have to spend nights out late, and spend the days recovering. This is not how I want to spend my life, I'm ready for a change. I can see a future of a 9 to 5 job, coming home to a wife and kids. A real future, surrounded by a family, possibly even my own home. This is the future I want, this is the future I prepared to work for.
I looked at myself in the mirror a few years ago and I saw that I was not happy. I decided to put my life back on track and make a plan. I've set real goals and I'm ready to achieve them. I scraped and saved and now have enough money that i could take classes and work less, so I can begin a real career. I have sacrificed fo rthe the last 2 years preparing and savings so I could begin the journey to a new life, and a happier me.
Motivation is not my only asset. I am educated and spend time with computers already. Although I did not originally graduate high school, I went back 8 years ago and got my GED. Since then I have worked hard to improve my skills with computers. In my job as an entertainer, we sometimes record shows in order to later produce copies and movies for customers. I work with a guy who puts together these movies, and sometimes assist to ensure that the best lighting and angles are captured. I have become familiar with the digital video editing software that he uses as well as many of the components on a computer as a result of this. Some day i would like to do my own videos on the side, just for fun.
Finally, I think I would be a good candidate for your school because I already have friends in the industry. I know that they will be there to support me in my goals, and assist me when it comes time to find a job. With these connections and the background and training you can provide I'm sure I would have a bright future in the field of IT.
In conclusion, due to my motivation, education and experience, and it connections I believe that i could be a future Mycomputercareer success story! 3/15/2010 11:31:30 AM |

I was curious what the difference between this, and something like a Bachelor's in Information Systems. I got a nice surprise. Looking through their curriculum is disheartening. All Microsoft based, with a little bit of Cisco thrown in. I'm not hating on Microsoft, but any curriculum which limits your skillset to a given set of technologies rather than teaching a general skillset ... you are asking for trouble.
On the flip side of things, good IT people can be life savers and should be able teach you things about your own software you never knew.
