Just brought it home.

Both Blu Ray and plain DVDs play back flawlessly, for a couple hours.

Then, at random, the picture goes away. Audio continues fine. TV indicates "mode not supported."

Switched to component video - DID get a picture there. A bad one. But at least I could see the setup menu to trouble shoot. Long story short: disabling the "high speed HDMI" option allows me to get HDMI picture back...but it looks godawful.

Again, runs flawlessly in high speed mode for several hours before this happens.

Tried firmware upgrade. No impact whatsoever.

Anyone have this player or any Pioneer Blu Ray player? Going to return this POS tomorrow and go back to the brand I know and love if this turns out to be anything other than a fluke lemon.

Hmmm...I don't understand how that could possibly result in random video drops.

The TV is a Samsung LN-T4081F. I've just begun reading about the anynet+ junk as a possible culprit. No idea yet though.

This fucking sucks.

Could just be a lemon. Swap it for another and see your results.

Oh, and R2D2-C3PO.

Does this fucking thing say TWC or Scientific Atlanta on the sides anywhere?

Sounds like an HDMI sync issue to me... But who cares, if its new take it back and try again.

^ No.

Thinking it is related to HDMI-CEC (labeled as anynet+ on Samsung products). I turned it off on the TV, and the problem has not reoccured yet.
