Should we work on overhauling college student loans or should we concentrate on the failing elementary to high school education system across the nation? 3/31/2010 10:48:49 AM |

well considering that by overhauling college loans, this simply shifts the debt somewhere else. Sallie Mae is laying off thousands of jobs because of the overhaul. That they have to lay them off because of the money lost.
where as if you put forth work into the education system from grade school to high school, what happens? oh yea, it creates more jobs like building schools and the supplies to fill those schools, and we get kids back into classes learning life skills and getting them a chance to get to college. Rather than them dropping out once they get of age to go work to help the family, you would have more openings at mcdonalds for adults to work.
im sorry but if you educate them young and put forth an effort, then you wont have to overhaul the loan sector. the only other problem i see that i have no answer for right now is the lack of jobs after college.
im pretty certain though that higher taxes is not going to increase job numbers for those out of college. 3/31/2010 11:07:09 AM |

No, you'd still have to overhaul it. I think there's a student loan thread already.3/31/2010 11:35:31 AM |

If that's the only thing you can't fix, then how soon can we vote you into office?! I wish more problems in macroeconomics could be solved with four paragraphs on an internet message board.3/31/2010 1:29:49 PM |
