Apparently in W7 they decided to take this feature out and I'm stumped as to how to use a program like Totalrecorder and get it working, can anyone help out?

i just want to record any audio that comes from a program which is currently playing on the speakers

Go to your recording devices, right click a device and check Show Disabled Devices. Then you can configure Stereo Mix again.

i dont have the stereo mix option, thats why i tried totalrecorder because its not dependant on the sound card driver, it uses a virtual one

AND i asked in my 11th hour, i solved it in the 11th hour 1st min, lol thanks for trying though
