I'm a sucker for anything with Martin Lawrence, add Tracy Morgan and Chris Rock into that mix and I'm definitely going to end up watching this.

Speaking as a person who's a bit bothered by remakes of foreign films into English, or, worse yet, English films into American (Fever Pitch, I'm looking at you), I am taking particular note of this, since the original English language version came out rather recently, starring the same midget, just with British people instead of blackmericans.

yeah. the original is fucking awesome, and it seriously looks like they shot the SAME EXACT FILM with the SAME EXACT PLOT, but with black stereotypes. pretty fucking lazy. the orig came out like 3 years ago. WTF.

I was pissed as FUCK when I saw this shit a couple months ago. I made all my friends watch the original when it leaked online like 3 years ago and we all agreed it was hilarious.

i'm not worried

i'm quite sure that the african american version (i was going to say black comedy, but that's what the original IS) will be just as quality

i mean, when was the last time you saw an african american comedy that was awful?

i'm going to be honest here guys, at risk of being thought unsophisticated for not enjoying this british film, but i did not love this movie.

i think it's b/c i thought alan tudyk's scenario was cliche enough to ruin the movie for me.

as if the idea of remaking a movie that's only 2 years old, got decent exposure in america, and is already in english wasn't bad enough -- having chris rock as the star guarantees this movie will be a piece of shit. no movie with rock as the star has ever done well.

surprise surprise, chris rock is the least funny person in the whole movie. i wish he would just go back to early-2000s standup and stop sucking.

From the previews, I was just happy to see a black (african american) comedy that didn't involve Tyler Perry or the Wayans brothers in any way.

THAT, my friends, is social progress. Maybe one day, Americans of every gender and ethnicity will join together to completely end the injustices of terrible comedians being given money and movie deals.
