Looks like they're going up again, primarily due to the "guarantee" that season ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the All-Star game. For those of us that already had season tickets, we get locked in at the 2009-2010 prices.

They spent money last year and it didn't attribute to team success, and it's obvious that they want to try and get some of that money back. Considering the economy, is the price increase a good idea? I'm sure they'll get several people who will want to sign up for the 12 game mini packs in the cheapest seats to get a chance at some All-Star festivities, but I don't know if they will get the season ticket holder increase that they're looking for. Some of these price jumps are astronomically high, first row from $137.50 to $205, Lower Level North from $53 to &75, Balcony Premier from $30 to $42, Upper Corners South from $25 to $36.

I also look at price increases as the "writing on the wall" of what's coming next. I might be paying for next season at 2009-2010 prices, but I know that I'll be paying "current" prices the following year or the year after. I'm afraid I might get priced out of my plan and will have to downgrade big-time down the road.

I don't have much of a problem with this considering the AS Game is going to drive sales of season tickets up and they are trying to make money back from last year - its understandable that they'd do that. I think JR has already said that the current numbers make it look like the season ticket holder base will be expanding.

I too miss the days of cheap NC State football tickets. It was $150 to watch us win 7 games at most.

and they wonder why they can't fill the place.

3rd level seating should all be $20/ticket.....

I also think they're doing this because of the relatively strong ticket sales when the team sucked for the majority of the season. They know the fan base is growing and interest will probably be high with the AS Game coming to town. I mean the final game last year was a sell out against Montreal even when the Canes had been out of it for a few weeks by that point.

on the one hand, as someone who didnt "ice their price", this is a little alarming

but, when you have a team that only turns a profit when they go two series deep into the playoffs, i guess you gotta do what you gotta do. noone really questions the feasibility of the Triangle as a hockey market anymore, this is the price we have to pay for that.

as long as they don't jack up parking again, i'm okay with the price increase

I haven't paid full STH price since 2004, and I don't expect to in the future. Something will happen.
