it's free for me, so aside from the interest i have in google wave, it's an excuse for me to be out of the office...i MIGHT learn something, but i wouldn't be going if i had to pay for it

^yea definitely. Most of the conferences I have been to had a pay part then the Q&A sessions were open to everyone. Not the case here, which is a bummer - they have a ton of great speakers.
On the flip side I guess those speakers want to get paid and to have their hotel room paid for 4/27/2010 10:09:00 PM |

...or I'd even be willing to fork over half the cost of some of those prices. What they're asking is just a bit too much for a day or two for what I can afford at the moment.
I understand people have to get paid, but geeze.

my $0 fee got me a messenger bag, t-shirt, and a pathetic 512mb memory stick
in addition to 3 buffet lunches and a dozen drink "coupons" (i assume these are used for snacks and drinks before and after lunch)
bing has some pretty decent swag...google's giving away a nexus one every day to the winner of their search engine contest...ask is giving away an ipad...facebook has some free t-shirts and there's a lot of free eco-bags
i'm just killing time until lunch 'cause i'm HONGRY 4/28/2010 11:54:16 AM |

I like how they have student prices, but hold the conference at the end of the semester right before exams. Don't most students usually attend the last few classes to make sure they get all the Finals information? 4/28/2010 12:27:45 PM |
