I didn't see a thread yet dealing with the upcoming mid-term congressional races so with the primary coming up in a week (May 4) consider this an open thread for any insights, observations, or questions for your particular district.
Anyone else down here in NC8, Larry Kissel's district? 4/26/2010 3:31:26 PM |

Isn't Larry Kissell in danger of not even getting a chance to run for reelection in November?
I am in District 9 Sue Myrick's district, to which she doesn't have much competition. Though I think she is going to retire after this next term if she is re-elected. 4/26/2010 4:12:06 PM |

Kissell's former campaign manager, Nancy Shakir, is running against him in the primary, but I haven't seen any polling that shows him in danger at all. She has hardly raised any money and has very little name recognition, not to mention this district isn't hard left enough for her to garner too much support. 4/26/2010 4:19:24 PM |

2008 Pres election results.
Kissell's district is basically that blue blotch on the bottom of the state. Given that he's only been there one term I don't think the anti-incumbent sentiment that is going around is going to affect him much. And given that he's right leaning for a democrat, for example he voted against health care reform, I don't think he's going to have much trouble if he makes it to the general.

The guy who drew that map does not seem to have any idea what cities comprise the triad or the triangle. 4/26/2010 5:04:16 PM |
