Well, 8 months later and I'm getting set to release a photobook and DVD on the Neuse River trip, but I need your help.

I'm having a "Pick the Book Cover" contest, and will be randomly drawing a name to give a free, autographed copy of the book prior to the release date in mid-late June. Pre-orders will start May 15. 10% of the net proceeds will be going to the Neuse Riverkeeper Foundation.

Here's the link to vote: http://bit.ly/NeuseBookContest

The rules are simple:
*Only one entry per email address
*Contest will be open from April 27-May 10
*One entry per 100 will be chosen at random to receive a free book
*Email address is required in order to notify the winner(s)

Thanks ya'll

Omar - I tried to put this in that Neuse River Trip thread from the fall but it was over 90 days old. Go ahead and move this there if this post is too obnoxious.

Pre-orders will be $10 + tax/shipping. Retail is $12.95 @ Amazon and some local stores.

Just checked, and there are already 50+ votes. It's almost an exact tie between 2 of them, but I ain't tellin'

btw i'm almost ashamed to say i've never paddled on the neuse. i've only taken the canoe on ponds and lakes so far. i always take the old aluminum ouachita when i fish the neuse. hopefully that'll change this summer.

The Let 'lones below Smithfield are pretty baller, as is that stretch about 20 miles into New Bern through The Gut and Greene's Thoroughfare.

Be sure to bump this when the book is available. I'll buy at least two copies, one for me and one for my dad. We have always talked about paddling the length of the Neuse together for as long as I can remember, but doubt it will ever happen.

I know this is The Lounge, but it would be pretty funny if you just had a big picture of NRR's face

At least funny to like, a few hundred people

other than that I like #1

Truth be told, I'm not a fan of it either. Way, way over used.

85 entries so far. Keep them coming! It's getting closer to a 3-way tie, with one cover being left in the dust.

Not yet. I don't want to taint the voter pool early. I'll release the results on May 10 here, and send an email to everyone that voted as well.
