Any changes in the industry? Is Linksys still a decent choice? I'm being asked to recommend a wireless router with a "good range". Not gamers, but I believe they could possibly attempt to steam movies to their television. Not positive on that, but could see him asking me the question. 5/6/2010 9:30:29 AM |

shame you can't buy buffalo anymore
i'd say they're all about the same these days...linksys isn't as good as it used to be, but it's not bad...get something that will run dd-wrt and you'll be fine 5/6/2010 9:32:17 AM |

I did a little research on this subject this morning, because I wanted to upgrade my home network to N. I settled on this router,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122326
and this bridge,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122218.
They both got universally good reviews and have more or less the fastest transfer speeds in their class. 5/6/2010 11:43:23 AM |

if you've got cash money get a cisco setup - the small business class ones are awesome and very reliable. Otherwise go straight for something that supports dd-wrt.
If you're wanting to push HD video you're still better off running a cable just for those times you want to microwave some popcorn at the same time. 5/6/2010 1:15:27 PM |
