okay I need work

where's the adjunct faculty @?

I need leads on places to apply for work in the Triangle and beyond

I've got a BA in English and an MA in Media Studies
I'm qualified to teach film, tv and radio audio editing and recording techniques, writing for radio, etc.
I currently live in NYC but am willing (eager?) to relocate

help a brother out?

Colleges got no monies to hire people

Seriously though, I did see some teaching positions posted on NCSU today if you felt like coming back to Raleigh

got a link?

I'd put Raleigh on my "circuit"

since no one hires full-time faculty anymore (and yet we all still pay full-time prices for education) I believe I'm going to have to take several adjunct positions to make ends meet

I know many instructors in the NY area that teach at a number of institutions for a rate of about $5000 per class

at that rate you gotta do 5 classes a semester to be lower lower middle class here
NC is appealing because the same amount of money gets me a higher standard of living

Texas A&M is looking to hire people, I think. Or will be, soon.

$5000/class for an adjunct is really the upper end. I've personally seen rates as high as $4000 and as low as $1500.

If you have a master's degree and teaching experience, though, you might consider applying for faculty positions at community colleges--more job security and benefits, and they pay more than you might think.

I've got the MA and a little formal teaching experience (one semester as a TA) - I've also taught other things, however

I'm definitely checking out the community colleges!

I can vouch for their usefulness - I attended community college and I ended up alright

I figured $5000 was a "premium" figure considering that these folks had MFAs or PhDs and were teaching at NYU, the New School, Columbia, Pratt, Pace, etc.

wait, are you still banned from stepping foot onto campus?

might be hard to teach a class if you aren't allowed on campus.

with the legal market as shitty as it is, i have also found myself looking at teaching positions

even though most don't want JD teachers, but rather a MA or PhD

if I remember correctly the trespass order was good for 1 year

so I'm cool - I've been on that campus plenty of times since then

also, the charge was expunged from my record so...
