DirecTV has screwed something up in their most recent update. Rebooting twice with the Red Button seems to fix the issue for most people. http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=178863

direct tv customer service is the #1 search on Google Trends

They're saying its bad guide data.

When I got home yesterday both my receivers had received an update and been reset. They were working fine though.

^likewise here. Plus, DirecTV sent me an email explaining and apologizing. Something TWC sure as hell never did.

FYI: I called to bitch about the cost of my DirecTV, and asked if they had any promotions. They are giving HD away for '24 months'. No committment, they'll just take the $10 a month charge off your bill.

I assume it is in response to Dish.

My dad said our DVR at home was out this afternoon. A reset fixed it. Mine was fine though.

I reset all of my receivers, still jacked up. Now I gotta wait 8 days for a tech to show up, I think its due to the power-washing that the HOA did to the buildings. Maybe something got jacked up somehow.

8 days? DAMN! Can you get anyone to pay for the time that passes while its unavailable?

If it's due to water, it will probably fix itself before the tech shows up, unless it's really screwed.

i wonder if this is the cause for my Logitech Harmony remote all of the sudden being completely out of sync with my receiver? the thing jumps around 2 channels at a time now when trying to flip through the guide and some other wonky shit

yeah i'm super pissed about the 8 days thing, they are however crediting my account so that I won't have to pay the service that I can't use for 8 days. So that's cool. I might call customer service and complain a bit more, see if I can get more out of it. 8 days seems a bit excessive.

I seriously think that somehow the powerwashing is the cause of this.
