I wrote this in the Days till Western Carolina thread

Dennis Byrd, one of the greatest Wolfpack players in history, has died. His number 77 was retired in 2002 and hangs on the West side upper deck, being the only defensive player to hold such an honor. He was a two time All-American defensive tackle while playing under the legendary Earle Edwards. He was only the second Wolfpack player to be taken in the first round of the NFL draft. Roman Gabriel was the first. The Patriots took him 6th overall. To show you how great he was, during his first season of eligibility (remember that freshmen could not play back in the day) he received 1st team All-ACC honors. In fact he was the first player in Atlantic Coast Conference history to be named a three-time All-ACC selection. On December 7, 2010 he will be officially inducted into the National Football Foundation’s College Football Hall of Fame, becoming only the fifth Wolfpack player to do so. He was named an ACC Football Legend and inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.

^^ Aren't those the same guys (i.e. broken neck Byrd was Jets Byrd). This Dennis Byrd was arguably the greatest defensive player in NC State football history. Sucks that a guy like him dies from having back surgey and a worthless shit clown rapist like LT lives.
