This isn't just humor, these are real arguments being used to advocate for putting gay people to death, by lying to win the court of public opinion by convincing people the way that gay people have sex is shitting on each others faces.

Quote : | "We have to stand against any efforts to marginalize and criminalize and penalize members of the LGBT community worldwide.”
Mark Bromley, chair of the Council for Global Equality, said he was pleased to see Secretary Clinton take a firm stand against antigay bigotry.
“The United States must make it absolutely clear to Uganda that the passage of the bill, which includes a death penalty provision and criminalizes those who fail to report suspected homosexuals to the authorities, would substantially impact our bilateral relationship and our health investments in that country,” he said. This article goes into how the American religious right has helped promote/fund efforts to pass the kill the gays bill.
Quote : | "Anti-gay laws in Africa are product of American religious exports, say activists
Given top billing at the event hosted by the FLN was Scott Lively, president of Abiding Truth Ministries, an American conservative Christian group from California, and a Holocaust revisionist whose controversial book The Pink Swastika names homosexuals as “the true inventors of Nazism and the guiding force behind many Nazi atrocities.”
Weeks after the Kampala conference in March last year — which followed a meeting between the speakers and members of the Ugandan Parliament — a clause appeared in the country’s draft Anti-Homosexuality Bill recommending life imprisonment for certain homosexual “crimes” or, for “serial offenders”, the death sentence.
To Mr Kaoma, an Anglican priest from Zambia who is project director of Political Research Associates — a Massachusetts-based progressive think-tank — it was further evidence of how America’s Christian Right has stoked intolerance to homosexuality in Africa.
After a 16-month investigation, during which he interviewed scores of witnesses in Uganda, Kenya and Nigeria, Mr Kaoma concluded that Africa’s anti-gay crackdowns are, at least in part, “made in the USA”.
“Through their extensive communications networks in Africa, social welfare projects, Bible schools and educational materials, US religious conservatives warn of the dangers of homosexuals, and present themselves as the true representatives of US evangelicalism,” he wrote in Globalising the Culture Wars: US Conservatives, African Churches and Homophobia, a damning report on the issue.
He told The Times: “We are not dismissing the fact that some of the money they send for Africa is going to good use. What we are concerned about is that the people who receive it are being trained in a conservative ideology. It will be like, ‘If I give you this, you must dance to my tune’.”
The results are becoming clear. In Malawi, where this week an openly gay couple were sentenced to 14 years in prison with hard labour, and across the continent, gays and lesbians face lives of increasing dread. ... It wasn’t always like this." |

Oh, I should have mentioned, some of those American supports of the "kill the gays" Uganda bill will be busing in from out of state to Raleigh in a few weeks to tell our legislators what North Carolinians really want. Like spending gov time/money on likely to fail attempts to amend our state constitution to say gays can't get married.

Quote : | "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speaking_in_tongues\
Glossolalia or speaking in tongues is the fluid vocalizing (or, less commonly, the writing) of speech-like syllables, often as part of religious practice. Though some consider these utterances to be meaningless, those that use them consider them to be part of a holy language." |

Quote : | "'Hang them': Uganda paper publishes photos of gays
By GODFREY OLUKYA and JASON STRAZIUSO The Associated Press Tuesday, October 19, 2010; 11:33 AM
KAMPALA, Uganda -- The front-page newspaper story featured a list of Uganda's 100 "top" homosexuals, with a bright yellow banner across it that read: "Hang Them." Alongside their photos were the men's names and addresses.
In the days since it was published, at least four gay Ugandans on the list have been attacked and many others are in hiding, according to rights activist Julian Onziema. One person named in the story had stones thrown at his house by neighbors.
A lawmaker in this conservative African country introduced a bill a year ago that would have imposed the death penalty for some homosexual acts and life in prison for others. An international uproar ensued, and the bill was quietly shelved.
But gays in Uganda say they have faced a year of harassment and attacks since the bill's introduction.
The legislation was drawn up following a visit by leaders of U.S. conservative Christian ministries that promote therapy they say allows gays to become heterosexual.
"Before the introduction of the bill in parliament most people did not mind about our activities. But since then, we are harassed by many people who hate homosexuality," said Patrick Ndede, 27. "The publicity the bill got made many people come to know about us and they started mistreating us."" |
Quote : | "gangs carry out so-called "corrective" rapes on lesbians.
Solomon Male, a pastor and the head of a group of clergy in Uganda, said he is glad the anti-homosexual bill has not yet passed, but said there needs to be an investigation to find out "why homosexuality is increasing in the country."
The Oct. 9 article in a Ugandan newspaper called Rolling Stone - not the American magazine - came out five days before the one-year anniversary of the controversial legislation. The article claimed that an unknown but deadly disease was attacking homosexuals in Uganda, and said that gays were recruiting 1 million children by raiding schools, a common smear used in Uganda. " |
1) Screw the fundamentalist religious right in the US for their role in this.
2) "We're in Ur skoolz, homosexualizing your futures" seems to be a concern not limited to idiot commenters on the Fayetteville Observer.10/24/2010 1:44:17 AM |

So the OP is for oppressing gays?
Anyway, it is scary and shocking how uninformed those people in power are (or they spread those lies on purpose?) and how mob mentality just sweeps over the populace because of the words of someone in power.
It all comes down to education vs no education.
So even if they eat poo poo and put their whole arms inside the anus, why does that bastard care? He said it himself that they do it in the privacy of their bedrooms.
Fuck him. 10/24/2010 5:07:37 PM |

Quote : | "Yesterday Ugandan LGBT activist David Kato was bludgeoned to death in his home just weeks after his photo was emblazoned on the cover of a local newspaper with the accompanying headline "HANG THEM!" The newspaper articles and Kato's murder came after months of international outrage over Uganda's proposed and still-pending "kill gays" bill, legislation that orders the death penalty for homosexuals in some cases and life imprisonment in others.
The inspiration for Uganda's gay death penalty bill, and surely, Kato's murder, arises from the work of American evangelists, chief among them the repulsive anti-gay activist Scott Lively, whose infamous book The Pink Swastika blames the rise of the Nazi Party and the Holocaust on gay men. " |

This comes after gay activists earlier today served UK Home Secretary Theresa May with a petition bearing over 40,000 names." |
message_topic.aspx?topic=606608
Someone asked if petitions and international pressure really works in the thread about a petition relating to UN resolution above. And it has, both in getting Uganda to drop their "kill the gays" bill and now it has at least temporarily kept this woman from being sent back to a country where might get "corrective rape therapy" or murdered.
Unfortunately, it can't stop it all. This was from a while back:
http://www.ihatethemedia.com/128-gays-sentenced-to-death-in-iraq
On July 19, 2005 two teenage boys, Mahmoud Asgari, 14, and Ayaz Marhoni, 16, were hanged in neighboring Iran for the crime of homosexual activity.
But I saw from a human rights group that Iran has scheduled some more gay men for capital punishment recently. Not sure what happened with that. I think they were slated to be killed last week.
Here is another online letter campaign over 3 people who were just killed and many more over the past year in Honduras. It basically says include murdered lgbt people among the murders you try to solve/prosecute:
http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/1870/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=5477
Quote : | "In two of the incidents, the victims were set on fire either before or after their deaths. This means that in the past year and a half, there has been a total of now 31 the murders of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) people in Honduras. Join the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) and the Honduran LGBTI organization Red Cattrachas in calling for immediate investigations and demanding state action to prevent future killings on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity." |
Quote : | "These killings are not isolated incidents. Since the 2009 coup d'état in Honduras, there have been 31 murders of LGBTI people documented by Red Cattrachas. More deaths of LGBT people have likely gone unreported. At least one of those killed, Walter Trochez, was a prominent human rights defender. In the majority of the cases, there have been no investigation or prosecution of the crimes." |
Quote : | "In response to pressure from local human rights activists, the Honduran Minister of Human Rights and the Tegucigalpa Chief of Homicide have assigned two investigators to these murders. However, no one has yet been charged in the recent deaths, and there is little evidence that the investigations are underway." |
Looks like the pressure is working there some too, but it never hurts to keep it up.1/28/2011 8:17:45 PM |
