Is this the year they finally break through and win the BCS championship? Is this the year Terrelle Pryor fulfills his hype and wins the Heisman? The biggest hurdles will likely be Alabama and Mark Ingram for both of those honors. The team that beat Oregon in the Rose Bowl is returning 15 starters. Got a tough game against Miami early on, but after that it should be smooth sailing for the majority of the season
2010 schedule: Date--------------Opponent------Location Thu, Sep 02-------Marshall-------Columbus Sat, Sep 11 -------Miami (FL) ----Columbus Sat, Sep 18 -------Ohio----------Columbus Sat, Sep 25 -------E. so pumped, I'm going to TRY and get up there for a game, maybe the Penn State or Michigan games if I get lucky with tickets.

It's b/c they won't travel to any non-con games unless it is another "big" school. i.e. Texas and eventually Miami. They played us in Raleigh since the agreement was made after our Gator Bowl victory. 7/28/2010 10:52:51 AM |

id love to see Ohio State travel "TO" East Carolina, Boise State, Houston, UConn/Rutgers, Stanford, @ NCSU(again), UTAH, BYU, TCU.....I mean what joy can beating akron and central michigan by 50 pts consistently be for fans in the stands and on tv.
for those of us who really hate the buckeyes(as i do), ofcourse your going to have a great record when you are scared to play descent competition away from your own facility.
* its ok b/c their not making it to the championship game this way any way, so all is well! 7/28/2010 11:01:43 AM |

youre a fucking idiot, so I'll make this easy for you
there is a lot of money involved when you go to other schools to play, ECU and the other schools that would get blown out of the water by OSU on your list would have to pay ridiculous sums of money just to get embarrassed.
I know you cant put together sentences or rational thoughts, so it might be hard for you to understand, but Ohio State is going to be good this year 7/28/2010 11:06:57 AM |

I love shitting on Ohio State, almost as much as I love shitting on DROD. But I have to come to both of their defenses here. Ohio State, for the past several years and for most of the next decade, plays at least one marquee team in a home and home series nearly every year. Miami, Texas, USC, California, VT, Oklahoma, Tennesee, etc. Florida can't say that, nor can most of the other SEC or Big 10 schools.
Sure, they have a couple of games vs East Buttfuck State to get easy wins, but who doesn't? Look at any major national power and they have a few creampuffs on there as well. At least the Buckeyes go out of their way to play at least one big time school home and away, which is more than most other top schools can say. 7/28/2010 11:39:35 AM |

yeah, good call on that one, genius.
Teams (and their ranking at the time) OSU has beaten since Tressel's been there, not including ranked BigTen teams since people want to bitch about that conference: '02: #10 Washington State, #1 Miami '03: #17 Washington State, #24 NCSU, #7 K-State '04: no ranked non-conference games '05: #6 Notre Dame '06: #2 Texas '09: #7 Oregon
So, there were 2 years where OSU didn't beat a non-conference, top-25 school. OH NO, THEY SUCK! And while I agree that the BigTen hasn't been as strong of a conference in the last 3-4 years as they were in the previous 10, they, as a league, still have a better non-conference record in that span than every conference NOT named the SEC.
Here's the all-time record of the Big Ten vs. other conferences: http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_ia/bigten/vs_conf.php
To the people criticizing OSU's scheduling, they do a better job of playing marquee non-conference games than nearly every other elite program. Also, the crappy schools that are scheduled are added as much for recruiting/keeping $$ w/Ohio schools as they are for an easy win.
Even though I get tired of posting essentially this EXACT SAME argument every season, I realize that haters gon' hate, and OSU is going to be a national title contender nearly every season.

Whats Ohio State, like 0-7 in bowl games versus SEC teams in the last decade?
The majority of fans have only watched a few Ohio State games in their entirety over the last half a dozen seasons...and those were the BCS title games where they got completely embarassed by SEC teams] 7/28/2010 2:29:00 PM |

they only got "completely embarrassed" by Florida. The LSU game wasn't exactly a nail-biter like the Fiesta Bowl against Texas, but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as the beating UF administered. 7/28/2010 2:33:13 PM |

so, let's bring up conference wins against ranked teams if you wanna pull that shit.
'02: PSU, Minn, Mich '03: Iowa, Mich St., Purdue '04: Mich '05: Iowa, Mich St., Minn, Mich '06: Iowa, Mich '07: Purdue, PSU, Wisconsin, Mich '08: Wisconsin, Mich. St '09: PSU, Iowa
and how is the big ten a joke? have you ever looked at their record against other BCS conferences? or do you just chug the SEC's cock like ESPN tells you to do?7/28/2010 2:39:58 PM |

whens the last time they won a title? Ohio State over Miami? now compare that with the SEC...6 of the 12 BCS championships were won by SEC schools
Tennessee Alabama Florida (twice) LSU (twice)
that means ONE THIRD OF THE SEC has won a BCS football championship...in the last 12 years
The Big Ten is far from the worst conference, but the SEC is definitely the best]7/28/2010 2:41:35 PM |

I'd have a little more respect for the Big Ten if they had an actual conference championship game - not their fault I know. Since they don't they aren't risking anything before bowl selection like some of the other high ranking teams.
I guess it's a double edged sword. On one hand they don't have a conference game to propel them ahead in the rankings. On the other hand (and it seems like it's been the case here of late) they just sit back and let all the people that are ranked ahead of them beat each other up in their respective conference title games and then start talking about a National Championship appearance with their 2 loss season.

^^not to mention they should not have won the one they did. Pass Interference was a joke.
But its ok I hate USC too. What kind of team is awarded a half a national championship just because. And then they were after three in a row. No they weren't they were going for 2.5 the half being a ridiculous technicality.
