So any tips or advice on the best way to privately sell a car I still owe a good deal on. Dealerships seem to offer about 3-4k less than what I'm seeing private sellers sell my car for, and I owe an amount between the offered trade in amount and the private seller price ive seen on sites like autotrader. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to buy a used SUV instead of my Caliber SRT-4. 7/26/2010 8:54:44 PM |

if its a mac sell it for a loss and be sure to get the new edition. do it now. we upgraded the battery so you can't replace it and firmware locked the OS so only the new editions take the upgrade.
and the new screens are mounted at a 14 degree angle for maximum signal reception. adjusting it to where you can see it better is not recommended. 7/26/2010 11:14:47 PM |

Can you be any more specific? You'll get much more money by selling privately than to a dealer/trading in, though that's the most hassle free way to handle it.
I assume the title is made out to the bank, you can pay that off first and get the title, if that's not an option, you'll have to get the seller to pay the bank, and if their offer is less than what you owe, you'll have to pay the difference to your lender before they will release the title.
Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck. I am starting to hate buying/selling cars, I'm currently trying to buy a late model Porsche where the buyer wants cash (as in $100 bills) for the entire amount...

How has this not been moved yet. Lol. Basically what I've decided to do is this: refinance my car with my local bank to temporarily have lower monthly payments. This will help me sell the car as I wont have to go through trusting a shady fuck or using an escrow service. I just need to find a buyer to pay approximately the average price of the car on autotrader. Hooray.
But yes all electronics in the car are working great. 7/27/2010 11:31:44 AM |

my question is, How do you owe money on a Dodge Caliber?
Did you not test drive that piece of shit before you decided to finance it?

When we sold the Escalade we paid off the note and had enough left over to buy the Dodge. BUT if we had sold it when gas prices were up it wouldnt have been so nice 7/28/2010 8:20:03 PM |

This is pretty common on an SRT-4. A friend of mine bought an '05 new and it was a financial weight around his neck. 7/30/2010 12:26:45 AM |

Depends on the vehicle and how you manage the loan. I'm not upside down on mine if I were to sell it, and that's being realistic.
